Basement

A basement is a room in the bottom of the house that usually has the furnace, hot water, and sump pump. Basements are used for extra storage in the house and for emergency shelter. Most basements in the United State are unfinished (above). Larger homes can have finished basements that look similar to the 1st or 2nd floors of the home.
